<p>You&rsquo;re looking for white paint for trim. Good news: You&rsquo;re in the right place! Here&rsquo;s my 3 step method for knowing (not guessing) what the best white paint for trim is.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="1600" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224.jpg" alt="white trim paint with white baseboards and white ceiling with taupe walls" class="wp-image-625" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224.jpg 1200w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-270x360.jpg 270w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-540x720.jpg 540w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-360x480.jpg 360w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-720x960.jpg 720w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-728x971.jpg 728w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-225x300.jpg 225w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224-1152x1536.jpg 1152w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/how-to-pick-white-trim-color-9224.jpg"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-Picking-The-Best-Paint-For-White-Trim">Picking The Best Paint For White Trim</h2>

<p>If you clicked on a blog post about the best white paint for trim and baseboards, my guess is you&rsquo;re either color curious (which if you are you should <a href="https://mailchi.mp/5ef36ce25c1d/a-season-for-home-email-sign-up">sign up for my email list </a>because-color nerds unite!) or you fall into one of these categories:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>You are moving</li>

<li>You are doing a home renovation project</li>

<li>You are doing a new build</li>

<li>You are redecorating</li>
</ul>

<p>If so, pick up your to-do list and cross off &ldquo;choose white trim paint&rdquo; because in this post I&rsquo;ll show you how to know which white is best for your trim. My three step process will take the number of white paints from the hundreds to one.</p>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-7-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3 Steps How To Pick Trim Paint Color</h3>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>Analyze fixed elements and read their color undertones</li>

<li>Learn why chroma is key to choosing the perfect white</li>

<li>Acess why LRV is important for choosing a trim color</li>
</ol>
</div></div>

<p>I will also share with you a HOT TIP about why you may want to go with a darker off-white instead of a crisp white. </p>
</div></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step 1: Assess Fixed Elements Before Picking White Trim Paint</h2>

<p>If you are renovating, doing a new build, or redecorating a room in your house, you have some elements in your space that can&rsquo;t be changed. With my clients, whether it is a virtual meeting or a <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/services/">color consultation here in Vermont</a>, this is always where we start! </p>

<p>And with hundreds of whites to choose from this can seem daunting at first. BUT&hellip; good news: This first step will cut the list in half! </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Why Access Undertones in Fixed Elements?</h3>

<p>Warm fixed elements, like travertine or brown grainte will have to be paired with a warmer white, whereas gray flooring or carerra marble with blue undertones has to be be paired with a clear or bright white.</p>

<p>If your windows are vinyl and cannot be painted you should also look at them too. If your &ldquo;white&rdquo; windows are on the gray side, like Andersen&rsquo;s white, you&rsquo;ll have to choose a gray toned white for your trim. </p>

<p>This step is also important if you have &ldquo;white&rdquo; counter or tiles in a kitchen or bathroom, sometimes choosing a bright white trim paint will make your fixed elements look terrible. Unless they are a good match the tiles and counters will look dingy next to a bright white paint. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image621_d783a9-4f size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="1600" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243.jpg" alt="soapstone, granite and white paper" class="kb-img wp-image-632" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243.jpg 1200w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243-225x300.jpg 225w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243-1152x1536.jpg 1152w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/soapstone-granite-white-printer-paper-9243.jpg"><figcaption>Using a few sheets of printer paper to look at the undertones in these two countertop materials</figcaption></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How To Acess Undertones in Fixed Elements</h3>

<p>The best way to know the undertones in your fixed elements is to compare them to a neutral white and/or neutral gray. Just like in getting the <a href="https://www.healthyseasonalrecipes.com/about-katie-webster/">perfect exposure in my food photography</a>, I use a gray card to do this. In your own home, use a few sheets of printer paper to assess your fixed elements to see what their undertone is. </p>

<p>For acessing the undertones in neutrals (like natural stone that are beige or gray) it&rsquo;s really helpful to use a mid tone gray instead of white. If you have a fan deck you can use Apparition from Ben Moore, or Repose Gray from Sherwin Williams. This will tell you if your fixed elements have a warmer or cooler undertone. Or if they&rsquo;re slightly green or pink!</p>

<div class="wp-block-group"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Warmer neutrals, like beige, pair best with warmer whites, off-whites and creams.</li>

<li>Cool neutrals, like gray, look better with pure whites and those with cooler tints. <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/benjamin-moore-collingwood-paint-color-review/">Collingwood</a> is a favorite! </li>
</ul>

<p>Once you are able to discern the undertones in your unchangeable elements you can narrow the scope of the white paints for trim. And just like that, that list of 100+ whites went down to half the size! </p>
</div></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step 2: Do you prefer Clean or Dirty Colors?</h2>

<p>At this point in selecting your paint colors, you won&rsquo;t know what the walls will be, but you&rsquo;ll probably know what kind of colors you like. Which brings us to step two: choose between a clean or dirty color scheme. </p>

<p>Here I go again talking about <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/clean-colors-what-are-they/">clean vs dirty colors</a>! But hear me out. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="576" height="1024" data-id="518" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-576x1024.jpg" alt="a clean color scheme" class="wp-image-518" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-169x300.jpg 169w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme-1152x2048.jpg 1152w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme.jpg 1215w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/clean-vs-dirty-colors-example-clean-scheme.jpg"><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Clean Color Scheme</figcaption></figure>
</figure>

<p>Do you like softer, more muted colors, or do you like brighter hues? Take a look at the two similar color palettes above. Left is dirty and low chroma and Right is clean high chroma.</p>

<p>Ask yourself, which do you prefer for decorating your house? By the way, there is no wrong answer!! This is a matter of personal preference.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" data-id="595" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals-1024x1024.jpg" alt="high chroma colors with white and gray neutrals" class="wp-image-595" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals-300x300.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals-150x150.jpg 150w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals-768x768.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals.jpg 1215w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/high-chroma-color-pallete-cool-neutrals.jpg"><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Use pure whites for high chroma colors</figcaption></figure>
</figure>

<p>The chroma is super important to consider when choosing your white trim paint. I touched on this last week when we talked about how to pick a <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/picking-the-best-home-color-combination-5-top-tips/">home color combination</a>. </p>

<ul class="wp-block-list has-theme-palette-7-background-color has-background">
<li><strong>High Chroma: </strong>If you like to surround yourself with clear chroma colors (clean) you should use a bright white trim paint (like Chantilly Lace by Ben Moore or Extra White by Sherwin Williams.)</li>

<li><strong>Low Chroma:</strong> If you like lower chroma colors (dirty) then you should use off-whites like Benjamin Moore&rsquo;s White Dove, Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore or Greek Villa from Sherwin Williams. </li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-Using-LRV-To-Choose-White-Trim-Color">Step 3: Use LRV To Choose White Trim Color</h2>

<p>The third step in my three-step process for choosing trim paint is to look up the LRV, or Light Reflectance Value of your wall color. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1994" height="1550" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color.jpg" alt="where you can find the LRV for a Ben Moore paint color on their website" class="wp-image-626" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color.jpg 1994w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color-300x233.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color-1024x796.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color-768x597.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color-1536x1194.jpg 1536w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1994px) 100vw, 1994px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/where-to-find-lrv-of-paint-color.jpg"></figure>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-7-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<p>If you are not familiar with LRV, this is a standard unit of measure for paints that describes the value or tone of the paint color and how bright or dark it is. It is a 1 to 100 scale that shows how much light it&rsquo;ll bounce back into the space. </p>

<p>White paints have a high LRV, meaning they reflect almost all of the light, whereas dark colors or black paints reflect little light and have a low LRV. Every paint company provides the LRV for your paint colors and you can use this to help you pick out your trim color.</p>
</div></div>

<p><strong>Why do we do this?</strong> Knowing the wall color&rsquo;s LRV is important in choosing your trim because it will affect the <strong>amount of contrast</strong> you get between the trim and walls and how much the trim pops.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1215" height="1215" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace.jpg" alt="a comparison side by side of ballet white next to chantilly lace" class="wp-image-627" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace.jpg 1215w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace-300x300.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace-150x150.jpg 150w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1215px) 100vw, 1215px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-chantilly-lace.jpg"></figure>

<p>For example, take a look at the example above. If you have a light neutral wall color like Ballet White (LRV 71.97) and use a vibrant white trim like Chantilly Lace (LRV of 90.04) you will have a differential of 18.07. </p>

<p>This 18 point variance will make the walls appear more deeply colored and make the white millwork pop. If you have historical trim that you want to show off, or want to create a cleaner traditional feel (even with a light paint color like Ballet White) you should choose a differential of 15 points to 30 points. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1215" height="1215" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove.jpg" alt="the ballet white shown next to white dove" class="wp-image-628" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove.jpg 1215w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove-300x300.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove-150x150.jpg 150w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove-768x768.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1215px) 100vw, 1215px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/lrv-differential-trim-color-white-dove.jpg"></figure>

<p>Conversely, a slightly more creamy, muted white paint will provide a different feel more consistant with today&rsquo;s trends in interiors. In the example above, White Dove (LRV 83.16)makes a lower contrast with the Ballet White. With this paint color pairing, the LRV differential comes down to 11.19 points.</p>

<li><strong>LEFT PHOTO:</strong> You can see in an example photo on the left above of a hallway in my house where there is low contrast between Ballet White (LRV 71.97) and White Dove (LRV 83.16). This 11.19 differential gives a muted cozy ethereal feel to the paint combination. </li>

<li><strong>RIGHT PHOTO:</strong> By comparison, on the right our guest room walls are painted Smokey Taupe (LRV 54.53) and the trim is White Dove (LRV 83.16). This creates a LRV differential of 28.63.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>OUTCOME:</strong> By the end of this step you will be able to take your list of the remaining whites, and narrow them down even farther. If you prefer a moodier, muted, softer look you&rsquo;ll want to choose a white paint with a slightly duller LRV (lower number.) Go with a higher LRV if you like a bold crisp look.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How To Choose Trim Color</h2>

<p>To recap these are the three steps you&rsquo;ll need to take to find the perfect white paint: </p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>First you&rsquo;ll figure out the undertones in the fixed elements in your space. </li>

<li>Then decide if you want to use clean or dirty colors to decorate.</li>

<li>Then decide if you want a softer look or a high contrast look.</li>
</ol>

<p>After these three steps, you&rsquo;ll be left with only a small handful of whites. From there the last thing to do is use a large scale paint chip and sample paint to test these white trim paints in your space. </p>

<p>I live in northern New England in a 200 plus year old house with small windows, so trust me when I say I know all about <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/8-common-color-mistakes-to-avoid-in-traditional-new-england-homes/" type="post" id="1670">paint colors for New England houses</a>. The key when choosing a white trim for a dark room is to go with a warm yellow-based off-white like Creamy from Sherwin Williams or Dover White from Sherwin-Williams. I adore Linen White from Benjamin Moore too. It truly glows in darker houses. </p>

<p>Now I know I just wrote an entire guide to picking a white trim color, because I know not every person cares what&rsquo;s in fashion vs what they like. However, I am currently warning my clients against brighter white trim, especially with the trend of darker wall colors and mid-tone paint colors because bright white trim is evocative of the early 2000s when paired with today&rsquo;s trending paints. </p>

<p>What to do instead? A lot of people are avoiding this altogether by color drenching or doing reverse or contrast trim. These days I encourage clients to either use reverse trim or use softer off-whites and creams instead. Consider using a darker color like:</p>

<li><a href="https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/white-paint-colors/SW7010-white-duck" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">White Duck by Sherwin-Williams </a>(LRV 74) </li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What if I like High Chroma Colors and Have Warm Fixed Elements or Vice Versa?</h2>

<p>In my Color Certification course this quandry is known as a show stopper- when you have a fixed element that you want to ditch but can&rsquo;t. In this case you can do two things:</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Mix Trim Paints:</strong> Use a bright or cool white trim in the rooms <em>without</em> the warm fixed elements, and use a warmer trim color only in the rooms with your warmer tiles and surfaces that cannot change. </li>

<li><strong>Choose An All-Purpose White:</strong> Go with a versatile white that plays nice on either side of the warm/cool scale like Sherwin Williams Snowbound (LRV 83) and Sherwin Williams Pure White (LRV 84). Benjamin Moore Snowfall (LRV 89) or Benjamin Moore Simply White (LRV 89) are two other options to test if you&rsquo;re in this situation.</li>
</ol>
</div></div>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-8-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Should All The Trim in The House Match?</h2>

<p>If you want to make life easy, yes! When we moved a year ago and I needed to pick out the colors for our entire house, I made life easier for myself (and the painters) and chose one color for all of the trim in the house. With the exception of the rooms where I used a contrast trim, I went with, White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore. </p>

<p>There is only one bedroom in the house where I used Decorator&rsquo;s White (LRV 82.68) and that&rsquo;s because I was using it with <a href="https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/1548/classic-gray">Classic Gray</a> (LRV 73.67) for the main wall color and White Dove didn&rsquo;t have the right temperature. </p>
</div></div>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-7-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What White Paint color should I use on the ceiling?</h2>

<p>In general, you can always keep it simple and use the same white paint color on the ceiling as the trim. Just make sure to use flat or matte on the ceiling to hide any blemishes. Ceilings reflect the most light and our eyes pick up flaws in the ceiling really easily.</p>

<p>The fact that ceilings naturally reflect more light also means the white paint will look brighter on the ceiling. </p>

<p>20+ years ago it was common to use a brighter ceiling color. You can still do this to make the walls appear darker. However, this works best if your trim color doesn&rsquo;t have a strong tint to it or the ceiling has the same tint, just a lighter LRV. For example, I would not use a bright white like Benjamin Moore Super White OC-125 on the ceiling with <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/benjamin-moore-navajo-white/">Benjamin Moore Navajo White</a> on the walls, unless I wanted to play up the peachy undertones of the Navajo White. </p>

<p>I personally think using a brighter ceiling paint can look a little dated, circa 1998, and recommend using the same paint color for the ceiling as the white trim. </p>
</div></div>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-8-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is the best sheen to use for trim? </h2>

<p>I like to use Semi-Gloss on trim, doors and baseboards. These higher traffic surfaces get scuffed and dinged more easily and <a href="https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/interior-exterior-paints-stains/how-to-advice/painting-101/choosing-paint-finish">semi gloss is best for resisting this</a>! </p>

<p>It is customary to use a higher gloss paint because semi-gloss is more resilient and easier to clean than eggshell, flat or matte. </p>

<p>If you want a slightly less shiny look, but more durability, you can use pearl or satin. When in doubt, ask at the paint store or your professional painter for your recommendations. </p>
</div></div>

<div class="wp-block-group"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Can I use a color other than white on the trim?</h2>

<p>Yes! As I said above, <a href="#h-Is-White-Trim-Outdated">crisp white trim is going out of fashion</a>, so you can always go with a darker off white (with an LRV in the 70s.) And there are a three other times when I recommend using a color other than white for your trim. Of course, there is also color drenching, but that is another matter entirely so that doesn&rsquo;t count!</p>

<p>One is when you are going for a contrast trim look, of which I am a giant fan. This is where the walls are white and the trim, baseboards, crown moulding and doors are darker. We did <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/benjamin-moore-muslin-paint-color-review/">Benjamin Moore Muslin Paint</a> on the trim with white walls in our spare room. Below you can see it in our home gym. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="1800" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9465-1.jpg" alt="beige trim and baseboard with white walls. <p>This look is very popular at the moment and looks fabulous with historical trimwork and custom millwork.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361.webp" alt="Rosalind Floral Wallpaper with moody paint colors and striped dining chairs" class="wp-image-642" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361.webp 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361-300x300.webp 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361-150x150.webp 150w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361-768x768.webp 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/rosalind-floral-wallpaperpainted-paper-761361.webp"></figure>

<p>The second time I love seeing a non-white trim is with wallpaper! I do not like white trim with wallpaper if the wallpaper doesn&rsquo;t have white in it. In this case I suggest pulling one of the lighter tones out of the wallpaper pattern and using this as your trim color. See above a <a href="https://paintedpaper.com/products/rosalind-floral-wallpaper">beautiful example from Painted Paper</a>. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image">

</div>

<p>Lastly is when you use a dark brown or black trim with a colored wall. I am obsessed with this look from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CnTqxD_rbLN/">The Green Rabbit House</a> and copied it in my guest apartment. </p>

<p>When you&rsquo;re looking for a tried-and-tested complex cream paint color, look to Benjamin Moore Navajo White. This warm off-white has subtle peach undertones that make it a great choice for cozy and inviting interiors. In today&rsquo;s paint color review, we&rsquo;ll discuss the undertones of Navajo White OC-95, its LRV, where to use it, and the best whites to pair with it. I&rsquo;ll also be sharing some photos of how we used it on the walls in <a href="#h-Why-I-Love-Navajo-White">our home gym</a> and how other design professionals used it too.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Color trends are Getting Warmer</h2>

<p>As a <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/services/">color consultant</a>, I need to stay on top of color trends and forecasting. Whether my clients want to follow the trends or not, it is important to know where the trends are going. Without a doubt, color trends are moving warm. Gone is the gray era and the White and Black farmhouse. Warm neutrals are here!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="791" height="1024" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-791x1024.jpg" alt="four examples of warm toned interiors from popular interior design houses in 2025" class="wp-image-568" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-791x1024.jpg 791w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-232x300.jpg 232w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-768x994.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-1187x1536.jpg 1187w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-1583x2048.jpg 1583w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025-scaled.jpg 1978w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 791px) 100vw, 791px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/interior-design-color-warming-trend-2025.jpg"></figure>

<p class="has-text-align-center">Interiors by (clockwise from top left ) <a href="https://www.devolkitchens.com/kitchens/shaker-kitchen?srsltid=AfmBOorQZ3xThdULhSyO85oCPEZgloDnwQZQgJ9Wp8h0ZP8j5fOGIW-M">DeVOL</a>, <a href="https://beckiowens.com/the-modern-rustic-kitchen-of-our-three-falls-project-2/">Becki Owens</a>,  <a href="https://amberinteriordesign.com/project/ambers-montana-extravaganza/">Amber Interiors</a> Design Studio and <a href="https://haldonhouse.com/#/">Haldon House</a>.</p>

<p>This shift to warmer neutrals and warmer shades is not just a blip on the social media feed, this warming of the collective palette is a macro trend that has been shifting for a few years and will likely endure about a 10 to 15 year tenure as most macro-trends do in the color world. </p>

<p>I am here for this trend in a big way! That&rsquo;s why I wanted to talk about Navajo White OC-95 today. I used it recently in <a href="#h-Why-I-Love-Navajo-White">my home gym</a> and know it&rsquo;ll be a popular choice for my color consultations in the coming years.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Is Navajo White Benjamin Moore Popular?</h2>

<p>While Benjamin Moore Navajo White (OC-95 also known as 947 and PM-29) has been a popular paint color for a long time, but it is about to get a whole lot more popular thanks to the shift to warm neutrals! </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">OC-95 Navajo White: Paint Color Highlights</h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>It is low chroma:</strong> If you read my primer on <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/clean-colors-what-are-they/">clean colors</a> then you understand the importance of color chroma in pairing paint colors. Navajo White is a fabulous low-chroma off-white to pair with other low-chroma colors. </li>

<li><strong>It has a bright value: </strong>Navajo white is relatively light in value. It has a LRV of 78.26 which means it bounces back a lot of light. This makes it a great choice if you want a color that has a slightly warmer hue than plain white, but do not want to darken your space.</li>

<li><strong>It is not too saturated</strong>: As the name implies, it is in the off-whites collection for Benjamin Moore, which means it is not deeply saturated. However it has enough warm peachy color to it that it can be used with a stark white trim. It&rsquo;ll look like a barely there beige or cream wall color, which is perfect for people who want warmth but not a lot of color.</li>

<li><strong>Goes with Beige: </strong>Beige is back and Navajo White Benjamin Moore goes so well with it! It can be paired with deep beige paints and wallpapers as a creamy trim when an all-over warmth is desired. I&rsquo;ll talk about this more below when I discuss how I used it in my home gym to solve <a href="#h-Why-I-Love-Navajo-White">a color quandary.</a></li>

<li><strong>Works with orange wood tones or orange tiles:</strong> If your pure white walls look too bright with your orange wood floors or travertine tiles, using Navajo white will have a lower contrast and make the orange in the floor or tiles less noticeable. </li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is the Undertone of Navajo White?</h2>

<p>When finding the color undertone of a neutral or off-white paint color I first compare it to a gray and white paint without any strong undertones. Here you can see my control paint chips taped to the Benjamin Moore Navajo White wall.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-8 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex">

</figure>

<p>In this example you can see the warm pinky peach undertone of the Navajo White. </p>

<p>You can see below where the hex code for this paint falls on a digital meter. It is in the orange family but because it is so pale it is more of a distant relative of orange.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1250" height="1750" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-579" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white.jpg 1250w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white-214x300.jpg 214w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white-731x1024.jpg 731w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white-768x1075.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white-1097x1536.jpg 1097w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1250px) 100vw, 1250px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/undertone-navajo-white.jpg"></figure>

<p>You can see that the orange is on the yellow side so when someone tells you Navajo White has a yellow undertone they&rsquo;re not wrong, but it does have a wee bit of red mixed into it which gives it a soft peachy quality. </p>

<p>This unique orange undertone is why Navajo White paint is so lovely compared to a strictly yellow-undertoned cream paint color.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Will Navajo White Look Beige, Off-White or Cream in my room?</h2>

<p>The answer is it depends on two things: The light and and what color(s) you pair it with. </p>

<p>First, on the matter of Color Pairing. By now, if you have been following me here or <a href="https://www.instagram.com/seasonforhome/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">on Instagram</a> then you know that color is always relative to what&rsquo;s next to it because our brains use the other color to calibrate. </p>

<p>With a clean white like Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore, the Navajo White will look peach.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="578" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70-1024x578.png" alt="navajo white on the left and chantilly lace on the right" class="wp-image-573" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70-1024x578.png 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70-300x169.png 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70-768x434.png 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70.png 1240w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-947-vs-chantilly-lace-2121-70.png"></figure>

<p>But when we compare Navajo White to a more deeply saturated pink beige like Kilim Beige by Sherwin Williams you can see that it is relatively pale and muted in comparison. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="578" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947-1024x578.jpg" alt="kilim beige by sherwin williams against navajo white by benjamin moore" class="wp-image-574" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947-1024x578.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947-300x169.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947-768x434.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947.jpg 1240w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/kilim-beige-sw-6106-vs-navajo-white-947.jpg"></figure>

<p>When compared to another popular beige paint color with pink undertones, like <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/benjamin-moore-muslin-paint-color-review/">Muslin by Benjamin Moore</a>, you can see the yellow in the undertones making it appear more <strong>creamy </strong>than beige. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="1600" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049.jpg" alt="White Dove walls with Muslin trim and a sheet of Benjamin Moore Navajo White next to it for comparison" class="wp-image-577" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049.jpg 1200w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049-225x300.jpg 225w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049-1152x1536.jpg 1152w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9049.jpg"><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">White Dove walls with Muslin trim and a sheet of Benjamin Moore Navajo White next to it for comparison</figcaption></figure>

<p>And as to the lighting, it&rsquo;s best to look at paint colors in natural light when trying to decide which to use. But I also recommend looking at the paint color at night too so you&rsquo;re sure to love it all day and night. Your lightbulbs will make a big difference so when possible use bulbs with a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_rendering_index">high CRI </a>(over 90.)</p>

<p>In the above photo, the light was quite diffused and it was a cloudy winter day so the light is on the cool side- this will affect the way all the colors look too! </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Trim Color To Use With Navajo White</h2>

<p>My recommendation is to use Navajo white on all the surfaces. This will give you an allover creamy feel, but it won&rsquo;t make the room seem peach. Adding white trim will make the undertones pop. Instead, vary the sheens, using a flat paint for the ceiling, eggshell on the walls and pearl or satin on the trim.</p>

<div class="wp-block-group"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained"><div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="735" height="501" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-bedroom-with-white-trim.jpg" alt="A creamy off-white bedroom painted with Navajo White by Crisp Architects" class="wp-image-570" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-bedroom-with-white-trim.jpg 735w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-bedroom-with-white-trim-300x204.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-bedroom-with-white-trim.jpg"><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">A creamy off-white bedroom painted with Navajo White by Crisp Architects</figcaption></figure>
</div>

<p>In this bedroom, by <a href="https://crisparchitects.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Crisp Architects</a>, the walls are painted Ben Moore Navajo White and the stark contrast of the Benjamin Moore&rsquo;s Decorator&rsquo;s White (and bright white bed linens) creates a strong differential. In this case the paint appears to be an ever-so-lovely peach to warm up this bright and airy space.</p>

<p>If you like the above look, you can go with Decorators White for the sharpest contrast. Other Benjamin Moore whites you can use for trim or ceiling are White Dove Oc-17, Cloud White 967 or Swiss Coffee OC-45.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-Why-I-Love-Navajo-White">Why I Love Navajo White</h2>

<p>It was Navajo White to the rescue when we had a recent unexpected color quandary in our home gym. What happened was the unfinished maple hardwood flooring we ordered looked very different than that which I had seen in the showroom. It had a distinct pink color to it. We tried staining it, which helped it a bit, but in the end, the floor was much brighter than we had hoped for. </p>

<p>The rest of the adjoining spaces had Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee on the walls, but that looked very starkly white with the warm floor and creamy <a href="https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/hc-79/greenbrier-beige">Greenbrier Beige HC-79 </a>trim. So I knew I needed to go with a creamy off-white for the walls and ceiling.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1200" height="1800" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472.jpg" alt="how Navajo White looks in our home gym with Greenbrier Beige on the trim" class="wp-image-583" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472.jpg 1200w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472-728x1092.jpg 728w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472-200x300.jpg 200w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472-683x1024.jpg 683w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472-768x1152.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472-1024x1536.jpg 1024w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9472.jpg"></figure>

<p>After testing it out. We used BM Navajo White to paint the walls and you can see how it came out in these photos above and below.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455-1024x683.jpg" alt="BM Navajo White: Our home gym with Navajo White walls and Greenbrier Beige trim with colorful posters and gym equipement" class="wp-image-582" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455-300x200.jpg 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455-768x512.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455.jpg 1200w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-review-9455.jpg"></figure>

<p>One really important detail to note is we painted the ceiling with the Navajo White because I wanted the walls to look &ldquo;white&rdquo; so I avoided a bright white ceiling which would have made the peach undertones in the Navajo White more obvious. In other words, I didn&rsquo;t want to have a pure white to throw off the eye-brain calibration. Without the stark white ceiling, the walls look white and it&rsquo;s only the bright white in the posters that tips you off that the walls are so creamy! </p>

<div class="wp-block-group has-theme-palette-7-background-color has-background"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Does Navajo White Work For Trim?</h2>

<p>Yes! You can use Navajo White for a trim color, especially if your house is dark, like a lot of the homes in New England. As I explained in my tutorial about <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/8-common-color-mistakes-to-avoid-in-traditional-new-england-homes/" type="post" id="1670">Mistakes To Avoid for New England Homes</a>, which is basically a cheat sheet of how to deal with dark houses, I explain that yellowish undertones and creaminess in whites like BM Navajo White, BM Linen White, SW Dover White and SW Creamy is an important feature that helps the paint from looking sad and gray. But, the key is to commit to it, and not use any other white paint at all in the house. Otherwise, you&rsquo;ll be able to see how peach it is by comparison. </p>

<p>That said, I would pick Navajo White in only a handful of cases because it has an orange undertone not a yellow undertone, and this can unintentionally clash with some colors. It would be stunning for a whole-house palette when pired with soft mid-toned beiges and creams SW Cream and Sugar, BM Manchester Tan, BM Carrington Beige. In all of these cases there is a low differential (something that is KEY to <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/best-white-paint-for-trim/" type="post" id="621">choosing the right trim color</a>.)</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Colors Go With Navajo White?</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1000" height="1600" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors.jpg" alt="paint colors to use with Navajo White by Ben Moore" class="wp-image-1057" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors.jpg 1000w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors-188x300.jpg 188w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors-640x1024.jpg 640w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors-768x1229.jpg 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors-960x1536.jpg 960w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-coordinating-colors.jpg"></figure>

<p>If you are looking for ideas for coordinating colors for Navajo White, you are in luck because it goes with so many paint colors. I have pulled together a list of a few favorite coordinating colors for Navajo White.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>White:</strong> A longtime favorite of interior designers, Atrium White by Ben Moore is known for it&rsquo;s wildly flattering pink undertone, this white paint would be a great option if you want a crisp contrast.</li>

<li><strong>Beige:</strong> Choose beiges from the gold beige or pink beige family and avoid greige or cooler taupe-based beiges. Some favorites are Ben Moore Greenbrier Beige and Crisp Khaki wich are warm yellow gold based beiges with a whisper of green in their undertones to keep them lower-chroma and complex. I also love a pink beige with Navajo White, but make sure it is not too overtly pink- Malabar by Sherwin-Williams is a favorite of mine.</li>

<li><strong>Green: </strong>Navajo White looks stunning with green. I like it best with warmer greens (those in the olive family) like Thicket, Urban Legend, both by BM. Or if you are going with a cooler green (a bluer one) make sure it is very greyed-out like Antique Pewter.</li>

<li><strong>Blue:</strong> Probably my favorite contrasting color for Navajo White is a deep navy (like Lead Gray by Benjamin Moore.) You could also use a blue-green like <a href="https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/1579/greyhound">Greyhound</a> or<a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/brewster-gray-by-benjamin-moore-the-perfect-blue-gray-paint-color/"> Brewster Gray</a> for an accent color. </li>

<li><strong>Blackish Brown:</strong> I don&rsquo;t love true black paints as a rule, and definitely not with Navajo White- it looks way too Halloweenish. Instead go with a moody-as-heck deep brown like <a href="https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/neutral-paint-colors/sw9605-clove" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Clove by Sherwin-Williams</a> (a current favorite and one of their 2025 colors of the year.)</li>

<li><strong>Orange:</strong> If you love russets, <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/best-peach-paint-colors/" type="post" id="1648">peach tones</a>, deep orangey brick colors and rustic orange tones, Navajo White by all means add them to a room painted with Navajo White. If using Navajo White as a whole-house color, you can color drench a smaller rooms (like a home-office or powder room) in a color like Mountain Hideaway or Firenze and the look will be so sophisticated!</li>
</ul>

<p>These are just a few ideas, but in reality there are tons of others that would work too. Just keep in mind, it looks great with warmer colors and those that are either <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/clean-colors-what-are-they/">low-chroma</a> or lacking <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/color-saturation/">saturation</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sherwin Williams Navajo White vs Benjamin Moore Navajo White</h2>

<p>Before I sign off, I need to mention an important thing. There is another Navajo White out there from Sherwin Williams. While these two creamy peachy colors are quite similar, do not use them interchangeably and make sure your painter knows which one you want! Sherwin Williams Navajo White is a little darker and pinker.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="578" src="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947-1024x578.png" alt="comparing Navajo White from both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams side by side" class="wp-image-585" srcset="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947-1024x578.png 1024w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947-300x169.png 300w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947-768x434.png 768w, https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947.png 1240w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" data-pin-media="https://aseasonforhome.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/navajo-white-sw-6126-vs-navajo-white-947.png"></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-Key-Takeaways-About-BM-Navajo-White">Key Takeaways About BM Navajo White</h2>

<p>This is a great paint color to make your room feel warm and cozy because it is both distinctly warm but it is light enough that it can help keep your space feeling bright.</p>

<p>Use it with a white trim for a lighter alternative to a pink beige. For example, if you love <a href="https://aseasonforhome.com/benjamin-moore-muslin-paint-color-review/">BM Muslin</a>, but it is too dark for you, go with Navajo White instead.</p>

<p>If you are somewhat color-averse but want to warm up your space, give Navajo White a peek. A hue like this is a great way to envelop your space with warmth without committing to a bold paint color.</p>

<p><strong>The most important thing to note:</strong> If you want overall warmth but are afraid the room will look like it is painted peach or yellow, then I highly recommend painting the ceiling and trim BM Navajo White too. Or you can do a modern colonial paint scheme like I did and paint the trim a darker color. </p>
